XZ73660 features a clean smooth silicone surface with minimal visible grain, creating a refined and contemporary appearance for automotive interiors. The low-texture surface works especially well with solid colors such as grey, brown, orange and beige, allowing the material to coordinate with different dashboard, door panel and console designs. Compared with heavily embossed upholstery leather, the smooth finish gives large interior panels a more continuous and uniform visual effect.

1.0mm Construction with Imitation Cotton Fleece Backing

Automotive interior wrapping requires enough flexibility to follow curved panels and edges without creating excessive material build-up. The 1.0mm construction provides a practical balance between surface body and wrapping flexibility, while the imitation cotton fleece backing adds a soft textile-supported layer for cutting, bonding and forming.

The backing also helps avoid an excessively hard or flat feel when the material is applied over interior trim components. For dashboard edges, door inserts, armrests and console sections, this structure provides better support for wrapping and bonding while maintaining a relatively clean finished profile.

XZ73660 is suitable for dashboard and instrument panel wrapping, door panels, door inserts, armrests, center consoles, headrests and selected automotive upholstery areas.

These interior components face different conditions in use. Dashboard materials may require good heat and light stability, while door panels and armrests experience repeated contact, cleaning and surface abrasion. Large wrapped components also require appropriate adhesive compatibility, dimensional stability and forming behavior.

For different automotive projects, requirements such as low VOC, abrasion resistance, heat aging, UV stability, stain resistance, color stability and adhesive compatibility can be matched according to the customer’s finished-part standards and validation requirements.

Material Matching for Interior Components

Surface feel, color, backing structure and forming behavior can be adjusted according to the location of the finished component.

For dashboard and instrument panel projects, surface appearance, heat and light exposure requirements are important considerations. For door panels, armrests and center consoles, repeated contact, cleaning and abrasion become more important. The backing and bonding system can therefore be selected according to the component geometry and customer’s production process.

Samples can be evaluated with the customer’s actual substrate, adhesive system and forming process before bulk production.
