XZ73648 features a decorative feather scale pattern formed by repeated overlapping shapes that create a directional, layered surface appearance.

Compared with conventional pebble, litchi or plain automotive grains, the feather-scale texture gives motorcycle and scooter seats a more customized visual character. The pattern can be used across the full saddle or combined with plain motorcycle leather on center panels, side sections or contrast areas.

Different colors and surface effects can be developed to match sport, street, scooter and custom motorcycle designs.

0.8mm Construction with Terry Fabric Backing

Motorcycle seats contain curved foam surfaces, narrow edges and transition areas where overly thick material can become difficult to wrap and sew.

The 0.8mm construction provides enough surface body to display the embossed pattern while remaining flexible for saddle upholstery. The terry fabric backing provides textile support during cutting, stitching and installation and helps the material follow shaped foam structures.

Backing density, weight and stretch behavior can be matched according to the curvature of the finished seat and the customer’s upholstery process.

XZ73648 is suitable for motorcycle seats, scooter seats, custom saddles, decorative center panels and selected motocross-style seat upholstery.

Motorcycle seating is exposed to repeated rider movement, friction, outdoor temperature changes, cleaning and continuous tension over shaped foam. Depending on the finished product, buyers may specify requirements such as abrasion resistance, tear strength, seam strength, heat aging, color stability and backing stability.

For highly curved saddle sections, material stretch and pattern direction should also be considered during cutting so the feather-scale texture remains visually consistent after wrapping.

Material Matching for Custom Motorcycle Seats

Pattern scale, surface finish, backing construction and flexibility can be adjusted according to different motorcycle and scooter seat designs.

For decorative seat panels, the feather-scale pattern can be combined with plain or fine-grain leather to create stronger contrast. For full saddle wrapping, the pattern direction should be planned before cutting so the finished seat maintains a consistent visual flow from front to rear.
